Ox Warehouse presents the first solo multimedia art exhibition in fifteen years by Hong Kong artist Gukzik, Ten Suggestions on Improving Our Lives. The exhibition features a series of new works, alongside older pieces and notes from the artist's creative process. It includes installations, text, and images in Gukzik's distinctive style, and incorporates interactive elements designed in collaboration with other artists to engage the public in contemplating the meaning of existence through the artist's ten suggestions.
The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first part explores activities related to clothing, food, shelter, and transportation, where the artist seeks meaning in the most ordinary daily life. The second part uses the senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch, and mind—to express the artist's contemplation on the forms of life.
Gukzik states: "I am amazed that the body possesses these life phenomena and want to know what other shapes and developments the energy hidden within life can take." She hopes the exhibition will make viewers more aware of their senses and the fundamental unity between themselves and the world, encouraging them to "boldly imagine and create the content of their own lives, constantly improving to progress quietly in sync with the world."
The exhibition includes interactive works created in collaboration with:
