The Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) was first organized in 2016 by Singapore's best-selling mathematics author, Terry Chew. In 2019, the SEAMO X International Finals were introduced, held on the Gold Coast, Australia, and in Singapore in subsequent years.
SEAMO has grown to involve over 20 countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Pakistan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Bulgaria, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and Brazil, with over 20,000 participants in preliminary rounds.
Terry Chew is Singapore's first author to publish a series of Olympiad mathematics books. His series "Unleash the Maths Olympian in You!" remains the gold standard across Southeast Asia. He is also the author of "Maths Heuristics," which equips mainstream students with fundamental problem-solving strategies. His books are used in over 8 countries and translated into more than 3 languages.
His unique teaching methodology—the RA*CE framework—is widely adopted across Asia, Europe, and the United States. The Singapore math curriculum emphasizes critical thinking skills as a core 21st-century competency, and SEAMO helps participants enhance their knowledge and performance in Olympiad mathematics through learning and training.

Practice papers are available for download. Two grades share one paper (except for Kindergarten), and awards are calculated separately.
Note: Upon registration, participants will receive previous competition papers (bilingual since the last edition). Registrations submitted by Thursday will receive papers via email on Friday. Registrations from Friday to the following Thursday will receive papers the following Friday.
