Overview
The Design for Change (DFC) Challenge is a global movement empowering children and youth across over 70 countries to change the world. Participants follow the four-step DFC process to identify and solve community problems. Outstanding participants can represent Macau at the world's largest youth exchange event.
Target Participants
- Eligibility: Macau residents (permanent and non-permanent) aged 6 to 17.
- Format: Participate individually or in a team of up to 5 members, guided by 1-2 adults for coordination.
The DFC Challenge Process
Participants must complete and document the following four steps:
- Feel: Identify a problem in your community and select the most pressing issue to address.
- Imagine: Brainstorm innovative and unique solutions to improve or solve the chosen problem.
- Do: Gather necessary resources and implement your action plan (actions must be carried out between October 1, 2020, and the submission deadline).
- Share: Share your DFC story with others to inspire more support and participation in creating change.

Submission Requirements
- Language: Submissions must be in Chinese or English.
- Content: Must include project title, team name, and a clear explanation of how the four DFC steps were executed.
- Documentation: The entire process must be recorded via photos, videos, audio, or written notes.
- Format: Final submission must be a video (3-5 minutes, MP4), presentation slides (PPT/PPTX), or a report (DOC/DOCX/PDF).
Rewards & Recognition
- Opportunity to be selected for the Macau team to attend the global youth exchange event.
- Top seven "Featured Story" winners receive medals, certificates, and a chance to present at the 10th DFC Creative Sharing Conference.
- All participants receive an internationally recognized certificate of participation.

- Registration Deadline: April 15
- Submission Deadline: April 30
