The exhibition begins with a short story about an otter searching for the Cod King, leading viewers to ponder the origins of Bacalhau (salted cod). Against the backdrop of past material scarcity, humans used the art of salting to 'lock in' the taste of the sea and bring it home. This wisdom granted cod a status that transcends time and space.

This exhibition marks creator Ka Yan Chan's third exploration of the theme 'Food and Memory'. On-site, in addition to a series of story illustrations, multiple paintings depicting Bacalhau dishes are presented. From a soul ingredient in Portugal to its evolution in Macanese cuisine, an ordinary cod transforms into distinctive delicacies under different cultural contexts. This exhibition hopes to revisit this historical flavor that connects the ocean and homeland with the audience.
