Exhibition Overview

The Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) has reopened the Guia Hill Nature News Station with a special thematic exhibition, "Wonder of the Wetlands". This exhibition introduces Macao's existing wetland types and the common flora and fauna found within them, allowing visitors to understand the territory's precious natural resources.

The exhibition highlights two unique wetland areas:

• Long Chao Kok Rocky Shore Wetlands near Hac Sá Beach in Coloane (seawater wetlands)
• Freshwater wetlands adjacent to the Taipa Houses-Museum artificial lake, a habitat for migrating birds

These irreplaceable natural tracts are recognized for their beauty and ecological importance, and are part of China's Top Ten Charming Wetlands.

After visiting the exhibition, explore the surrounding area:

• Guia Hill Municipal Park: Known as the "lungs of the Macao Peninsula"
• Guia Fortress (including the Chapel of Our Lady of Guia and the Guia Lighthouse): A famous landmark and part of the UNESCO World Heritage site "Historic Centre of Macao". Offers the widest and most beautiful panoramic views of Macao's urban areas and outlying islands.
