About the Competition
The World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) is an international mathematics competition that brings together organizations dedicated to promoting mathematics from countries and regions including the United States, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Macau, Iran, Bulgaria, India, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Myanmar, Australia, Brazil, Turkey, and Laos. The annual finals are held in different countries, gathering mathematical elites from around the world. This platform allows students to step onto the international mathematics stage, exchange ideas with global peers, broaden their worldview, and strive for glory.
The WMI facilitates the exchange of mathematics teaching experiences among nations, improves the quality of mathematics education, and identifies and nurtures outstanding mathematical talent. It aims to stimulate students' interest in learning, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and provide a sense of achievement through the competition process. All participants can use the WMI platform for self-assessment, broadening their horizons and preparing for future challenges.

Target Participants (2020-2021 Academic Year)
- Kindergarten students (age 6 or below)
- Primary school students (Grades 1-6, separate groups per grade)
- Secondary school students (Grades 1-6, separate groups per grade)
Preliminary Competition Awards (Macau)
- Gold Award: Top 5%
- Silver Award: Next 15%
- Bronze Award: Next 25%
Competition Process
- Preliminary Round
- Gold, Silver, and Bronze award winners are eligible to directly register for the 2021 WMI World Finals.
- Other high-achieving participants can register for the finals after undergoing training and meeting the required scores in a subsequent round.
School & Learning Center Awards
- School Awards: The school with the highest total score in the primary and secondary categories will receive championship, runner-up, and third-place trophies for kindergarten, primary, and secondary divisions. Schools with the most participants will receive the "Most Active in Promoting Mathematics Award."
- Learning Center Awards: The center with the most participants receives the "Most Active in Promoting Mathematics - Learning Center" award. Mathematics tutors of Gold Award winners receive the "Outstanding Tutor" title and certificate.

Notes
- The preliminary exam consists of logical thinking and applied operation sections, available in Traditional Chinese and English.
- Final exam papers are jointly graded by professional mathematics teachers from various countries, ensuring a fair, just, and open competition.
