Taipa Village Cultural Association is honored to present international artist Elizabeth Briel's unique paper art exhibition, "Waves of Influence: Foreign Materialities." This exhibition showcases the essence of paper art transformed from recycled fabrics—a rare artistic medium that raises awareness about environmental sustainability. The project is supported by the Cultural Development Fund of the Macao SAR Government.
Elizabeth Briel is a painter and printmaker who primarily works with paper, responding to the places she inhabits. Her large-scale paper installation "Waves of Influence" (completed in 2025) is presented alongside selected works from her earlier series "Impressions: The Underground Worlds of Paris and Hong Kong."
Taipa Village Cultural Association Established in 2016, it is a non-profit organization formed by professionals concerned with the cultural heritage of Taipa Old Village. The association is dedicated to promoting the area's rich history and unique culture, fostering tourism and community development, and revitalizing the district through various art and cultural activities.
Once a Portuguese territory inhabited by fishermen, Taipa Old Village retains architecture that blends Portuguese and Chinese styles, along with pastel-colored churches and Chinese temples. Distinct from Macao's casino resorts, this historic and exotic district is a must-visit landmark for both locals and tourists.
