Event Overview
Since Macau's Historic Centre was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005, heritage education efforts have borne fruit. This competition, organized by the Macau Heritage Ambassadors Association, aims to engage the public in promoting World Heritage through creative multimedia. Guided by the "learning by doing" principle, participants are encouraged to create voice-overs for animations about Macau's heritage, fostering knowledge and protection awareness.
Objectives
- Increase public awareness and conservation consciousness of Macau's World Heritage.
- Apply multimedia technology to heritage promotion, enhancing its possibilities and diversity.
- Leverage social media trends and the popularity of video content to disseminate heritage knowledge through innovative dubbing.
- Encourage more citizens to join the ranks of cultural heritage protectors.
- Provide opportunities for parent-child bonding and shared learning.
Competition Categories & Eligibility
- Family Group: For children aged 12 and below, participating as a parent-child team.
- Youth Group: For individuals or teams aged 13–18.
- Open Group: For individuals or teams aged 19 and above.
General Rules:
- Maximum of 3 participants per dubbing team.
- Open to Macau residents (permanent/non-permanent) and students studying in Macau.
- For the Family Group, the age of the youngest member determines eligibility.
- For the Youth and Open Groups, the age of the oldest member determines eligibility.
Competition Format & Rules
Participants will be provided with three 30–50 second animations about Macau's Historic Centre. They must choose one to create a voice-over for.
- Participants must research, design, and create their own dialogue (any style—site introductions, storytelling, etc., is acceptable).
- Adding sound effects, subtitles, and special effects is permitted.
- Dubbing Language: Cantonese or Mandarin.
- Judging Criteria: Relevance to theme, accuracy and completeness of content, dialogue design and fluency, dubbing and recording technique, creativity.
- Other Rules: Content must be positive and healthy, free from violence, pornography, or other inappropriate elements.
How to Participate
- Complete the online registration form and submit the registration fee of MOP 30 online.
- Receive the three video files via email and select one for dubbing.
- Submit your final entry (in MOV or MP4 format) via email to [email protected] by the submission deadline of September 24, 2023. The email subject must follow the format: "配音比賽_[Family/Youth/Open Group]_[Contact Person's Name]".
