The "Spirit and Nature – Koichi Sato Graphic Design Exhibition," organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and co-organized by the Macau Designers Association, is now being held at the Old Court Building in Nam Van. The exhibition showcases numerous representative poster creations by Koichi Sato, as well as his collected essays and works by his students. Divided into multiple themes, the exhibition presents the designer's style and characteristics from different creative periods from various angles, allowing the audience to deeply understand his aesthetic world and recognize his contributions to education.
Koichi Sato graduated from the Craft Department of Tokyo University of the Arts in 1969. He joined Shiseido the same year and became independent in 1971 after two years of employment. He was initially renowned as a pioneer in integrating "Japanese beauty" into modern design. In the later stages of his career, he explored and experimented with themes of "free and varied forms of expression." His mysterious and evocative works have been permanently collected by major art museums worldwide.
