Movie posters are not just promotional tools but a vital component of cinematic art. Each poster, each version, is a unique creation that embodies the artist's dedication and personal interpretation of the film.
The "Rewind Macao" exhibition series focuses on reviewing local cinema and introducing Macau creators beyond the director's role. This exhibition invites two local illustrators, Yolanda Kog and Yang Sio Maan, to select two recent Macau films included in the "Feature Film Production Support Program" –– "Sisterhood" and "The Moon Represents My Heart" –– and recreate their posters, paying tribute to local creations from a fresh perspective.
Through this exhibition, audiences can not only appreciate the subtle collision of film and illustration but also, through the artists' creative drafts, exhibition design ingenuity, and the delicate brushstrokes on the posters, rediscover the unique charm and qualities of Macau hidden within the frames of the films.
