Guarantee a joyous New Year with rich Japanese celebratory traditions on January 1st and witness the traditional performances by our Kimono Ambassadors dancing the Soran Bushi followed by Oshogatsu Mochitsuki to start the year of 2020 with a bang!
Take part in the ceremony by shouting "DOKKOISHO!" or "SORAN!" as polite encouragement during the performance and immerse in the Japanese New Year's atmosphere!
One of the most popular practices of Oshogatsu (New Year) celebrations is Mochitsuki - the making of mochi (rice cakes) by beating with a huge hammer on a special sticky rice into a dough - guests get to taste it afterward!
