Iao Hon Market Park is named for its close connection to the adjacent Iao Hon Market. Opened in 1994, it is a fully open, plaza-style park located in the densely populated northern district of Macau, near the large Iao Hon Municipal Complex Building.
To address the shortage of parking spaces due to population and vehicle growth in the northern district, the Macau government initiated a reconstruction plan in 2005. The project involved adding a three-story underground parking garage beneath the park, followed by a redesign of the park grounds. The renovated park reopened to the public in early 2007.
With convenient transportation, proximity to a large market, and well-connected pathways within the park, it has become a popular spot for local residents to relax and enjoy recreational activities.
