Celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Macau Cardinal Newman Arts and Culture Gallery, the venue specially invites local photographer Mr. Leong Wai Chuen to exhibit his photographic works from over the years. The exhibition traces his journey from designer to photojournalist, from a photography enthusiast to developing his own unique style, and from simply capturing 'beauty' to capturing the meaning of each individual's existence. With a keen sensibility, Leong has preserved many precious moments of people in the city.
Leong Wai Chuen is also widely known for another identity – a Catholic photographer. He is a fixture at Macau's Catholic festivals, the only local photographer permitted to closely document Catholic rituals, and the photographer representing the Macau Diocese at important ceremonies abroad. These dual identities hold equal weight for Leong, marking a milestone that changed the latter half of his life. While similar, these roles also contain moments that are hard to define, inviting the audience to immerse themselves and feel the photographer's internal role transitions.
