Following the "Hot Blood Opening" exhibition, Macau Zoku Art Society presents a new exhibition, "Free Yourself: Bra Art Installation Exhibition." The opening ceremony will be held at 7:00 PM on July 25th at the Old Ladies' House Art Space.
This is an exhibition about women and bras. The concept of "woman" has long carried many interpretations. As Simone de Beauvoir said in The Second Sex, "One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman." In the process of learning to become a woman, the bra, as an essential item, holds symbolic meaning. The exhibition explores themes derived from perspectives on wearing bras and their dual nature of protection and constraint:
The exhibition hopes to inspire women to truly contemplate their value and existence in society.
Founded in October 2012, the society was formed by individuals passionate about performing arts. Adhering to the philosophy of "one step at a time," they aim to accumulate life experiences through performance to weave a path toward achieving dreams. Initially focused on promoting mime, the society has recently expanded into interactive installations and exhibition art, hoping to promote art through comprehensive projects and discover its presence in daily life.
All Macau citizens are welcome to visit.
