At the end of 2019, the novel coronavirus outbreak occurred in Wuhan. To protect the health of the nation's 1.4 billion people, countless medical personnel rushed to the front lines without hesitation to fight the epidemic. All sectors of society also actively cooperated with and supported the government's COVID-19 prevention and control efforts in various ways, working together to engage in a battle between humans and the novel coronavirus, effectively bringing the pandemic under control.
Guided by the China Association for Science and Technology and organized by the China Science and Technology Museum, the "Fighting the Pandemic – Combating COVID-19 Special Exhibition" is hosted by the Guangdong Science Center and undertaken by the Macao Science Center. It is the nation's first interactive experience exhibition themed on the novel coronavirus. The exhibition is divided into four major zones: "Virus Attack," "Overcoming Difficulties Together," "Scientific Prevention and Control," and "Pandemic Warning." It features over 30 interactive and multimedia exhibits that introduce the basic knowledge of viruses in an accessible way, review the course of the COVID-19 pandemic as it ravaged various regions, highlight the touching stories from all walks of life during the nationwide fight against the pandemic—especially the "retrograde heroes" of the medical teams aiding Hubei—and introduce effective public health knowledge for pandemic prevention and control.
