Event Overview

With the arrival of spring and the renewal of all things, the Macao Public Library is committed to promoting the construction of a 'City of Reading' and enriching the reading atmosphere through various themes.

Following the themed book recommendations for the zodiac signs of Ox, Tiger, and Rabbit, the Year of the Dragon (Jiachen) has arrived as scheduled. The library has specially selected nearly 200 books from its collection related to 'dragons,' which will be available for readers across four public libraries. The collection spans a wide range of genres, including:

• Chinese classics
• Mythology and allusions
• Astronomy and military science
• Popular science and biology
• Fiction and literature
• Children's books and picture books
• Lifestyle and art
• Wellness, diet, fitness, and performing arts

This selection presents the history and cultural stories surrounding dragons, Chinese festival customs, and urban lifestyle habits, aiming to create a festive New Year atmosphere and deepen understanding of the excellent traditional culture and rich spiritual heritage of the Chinese nation.
