Course Content
The curriculum is divided into two main parts:
Part 1: Infant Care Knowledge & Maternal Care (Pre-natal to Post-natal)
- Preparation for pre, mid, and post-pregnancy
- Basic postpartum care for mothers
- Breastfeeding techniques
- Infant care from birth (bathing, milk preparation, burping, basic infant first aid, baby massage)
- Taught by a senior Macau registered nurse with over 10 years of experience at Centro Hospitalar Conde de São Januário and Kiang Wu Hospital, who is also a mother of two.
Part 2: Specialized Topics
- Postpartum dietary therapy (by Senior Clinical Chinese Medicine Doctor & Nutritionist)
- Common newborn diseases (by Senior Clinical Western Medicine Doctor)
- Maternal mental health, family interaction skills, interpersonal communication, infant psychological development & training (by Psychology PhD)
- Practical experience and tips for confinement nannies (by Experienced Practicing Confinement Nanny)
