About the Exhibition
Fai Tong Pou (Fantasia) Creative Park welcomes a new member to its Artist-in-Residence program—Macau's young creative artist, Zhu Jianfa. Over the course of a one-year residency, he will present his work through three separate exhibitions. The first exhibition, titled 'Play', centers on the theme of childhood and nostalgia, featuring ten cyanotype and silkscreen print works.
Exhibition Details
- Exhibition Period: July 17 – November 13, 2016
- Opening Ceremony: Held at 3:00 PM on the day before the exhibition opened, with guests including Liu Yingxin (Senior Technician, Academic Affairs Department, Macao Polytechnic Institute), Li Haizhu (Assistant to the Dean of Academic Affairs, Xin Hua School), and Li Weiliang (Director, Macau Handicraft and Creative Association).
- Theme & Concept: The theme 'Play' reflects the artist's realization that childhood toys are often forgotten with age. While this is inevitable, Zhu finds it regrettable. Through his works, he hopes to lead the audience to reminisce about the past, learn to cherish what they have, and depict the world that surrounds us all.
- About the Artist: Zhu Jianfa graduated in 2014 from the Macao Polytechnic Institute's School of Arts, Visual Arts (Fine Arts Education) program, specializing in printmaking. He has participated in numerous local and international print exhibitions. He is a member of the Macau International Print Art Research Centre, the Macau Art Association, and a committee member of the Macao Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association. His works often reflect daily life and express personal sentiments.
