Exhibition Overview
The Special Olympics Macau presents the "Youth Inclusion Program – Embrace · Inclusion Art Exhibition," showcasing environmentally-friendly wooden artworks by designer Xiao Qidong, themed around the concept of sweat.
About the Artwork
- Theme: Sweat is portrayed as a symbol of effort and perseverance after exercise or hard work. The artwork represents the sweat and dedication of Special Olympics athletes during their training and competitions.
- Design: Created by designer Xiao Qidong, the piece is made from eco-friendly wood. The upper part functions as a "horn," while the lower part acts as an "amplifier." Speaking into the horn amplifies the sound.
- Message: The artwork encourages individuals with special needs to voice their thoughts and express themselves courageously. It also invites the public to listen and understand their inner voices.
- Aesthetic: The primary color is white. A decorative "ribbon" is attached, designed to resemble a running track. Using laser printing technology, photos from the "Free Hug" event are printed on the ribbon in a "sweat stain" pattern as a memento.
