An artist-in-residence exhibition project exploring themes of women and displacement.
Siyue Gong (born 1984) lives and works in Shanghai, China.
After graduating from the Fine-arts College of Shanghai University, she worked at the Rockbund Art Museum, where she organized and curated over a hundred events annually, including the museum's annual forum, talks, panels, performances, and workshops as part of its public program. Her work attracted local and international individuals and organizations from various disciplines.
Gong served as deputy director at Ray Art Center from 2014. Between 2014 and 2016, she and her team held five small-scale, research-based exhibitions in the gallery's 40-square-meter space, covering topics from artist practices and female activism to anthropological studies in rural China based on photography. Over 100 public events, both in-house and in cooperation with museums and schools, were curated and executed in relation to the exhibition content.
She actively collaborates with various artists and studios on different projects. She also translated IN MY VIEW: Personal Reflections on Art by Today's Leading Artists (Thames & Hudson, 2012) into Chinese, which was published in 2018.
