Event Overview

An extension of the "Female Art Series" exhibition, this event delves into the stories behind the artworks. Old House Studio collaborates with the exhibition curator, Hong Yifeng Creative Society, to move beyond the gallery space and into a community-focused venue where the creative thoughts of several artists can be shared intimately.

This talk also serves as the launch for the "Female Art Series" publication by Hong Yifeng. This complete thematic publication features the photographic works of four young artists: Bella Tam Lula, Pui Cheng Lei, Kate Samozwaniec, and Ieong Kun Ieng. Each artist's work is presented in a unique format with different sizes and binding methods, all integrated with textual explanations and discussions on female topics.

Speaker Bios

Bella Tam Lula Born and raised in Macau, Bella Tam majored in English Literature in university. She believes in nature and that everything has its own language. She is currently a freelance photographer.

Pui Cheng Lei A full-time photographer, Pui Cheng Lei finds survival in the cracks, enjoying capturing forgotten corners, moments about to be forgotten, or simply the "present." For her, photography is a way to connect her inner and outer worlds, freezing frames that strike the heart, capturing emotions, particles, light, or air, greedily hoping to preserve those fleeting moments as evidence of her encounters with them.

Kate Samozwaniec A Macau native, Kate has lived in Taiwan, the USA, and various European countries and is currently studying photography at the University of Arts in Poznań, Poland. She enjoys transforming and reworking memories, photography, and image archives by mixing different media and materials, attempting to find their distinct or inherent qualities and meanings.

Ieong Kun Ieng Raised in Macau, her creative work includes photography, video, illustration, and installation. Her work focuses on self-exploration, gender, and community culture. Combining her profession and interests, she currently works as a freelancer primarily involved in video production, writing, and children's art education.
