Perhaps you think waiting is a state of stillness. The story The Old Man and the Sea by the famous modern American novelist Ernest Hemingway redefines the word 'waiting,' imbuing it with emotions and intrinsic meanings that far exceed our everyday understanding.
Waiting can be a difficult journey, or it can be a meaningless standstill. If artistic creation chooses to stand still, time will slip through one's fingers unnoticed. Only by pursuing relentlessly will one reap various unknown possibilities. This unknown brings endless challenges, ultimately leading to the dawn of hope. Therefore, waiting requires a belief. Driven by this belief, we no longer fear waiting in the process of artistic creation, because we know it is also a form of perseverance. Everything that appears during the wait is a witness to self-affirmation, and everything that happens is a sublimation of self-affirmation. This is like artists in the state of creation, who must face waiting time and again—waiting for the process, for thoughts, for inspiration, and for the pursuit of their own artistic path. This waiting is not blind but filled with the pursuit of belief. For artists, this is of paramount importance. Thus, waiting is also a belief.
These works are the products of the Macau youth artists' prolonged 'waiting' process, with their brilliance shining through in various forms. It is believed that these works are merely a node in the long process of waiting. Waiting supported by belief will bring everyone more anticipated possibilities.
