As the lotus leaves stretch to the sky in an endless green and the lotus flowers glow uniquely red under the sun, even the most spectacular scenes in life gain meaning only with human presence. Similarly, even the finest paintings need to be appreciated—observed with curious eyes and felt with a sincere heart—to extend the work's significance further. As a new cycle begins and spring returns to the earth, life is full of scenery everywhere. In 2018, we invite you to visit the Macao Museum of Art often to 'view scenes'.
The scene outside the window connects us to our bond with nature, while the scene inside connects us to our bond with family. Life is full of scenery everywhere: sometimes it's a spring bloom, overwhelmingly beautiful; sometimes it's a misty drizzle, elusive and mysterious; sometimes it's autumn leaves falling, tinged with a hint of melancholy; sometimes it's a storm, weathering the trials of time. Precisely because people, society, and politics are inextricably linked, artists use colors and lines on canvas to narrate the rich emotions and complex states of human existence.
