Presented by the Ark Macau Art Association (AAMA), the "Unexpected Encounter" 2023 Annual Member Exhibition showcases 27 exceptional works by the association's members. The exhibition features a diverse range of media, including paintings, photography, mosaics, three-dimensional installations, and AI-generated art.
Held in collaboration with the historic Portuguese-style building, Golden Gate 1953 Shared Space, this exhibition aims to promote the development of Macau's diverse cultural arts and integrate art into the community.
The universe is constantly speaking to everyone, sending us messages through coincidences, surprises, fate, small blessings, and even miracles. These moments remind us to slow down, observe the people and things around us, and to perceive and believe.
"Unexpected Encounter" refers to the delightful surprises and beautiful things discovered by chance, orchestrated by the universe. This theme encompasses a wide range of experiences, from a rainbow after the rain and a beloved book found by chance, to a serendipitous friendship that feels like destiny.
Through this theme, members of the Ark Macau Art Association use various mediums to tell their personal stories and feelings of "unexpected encounters," piecing together the wonder of the great universe.
Established in 2014, the Ark Macau Art Association (AAMA) aims to promote Macau's art and culture. Through various artistic activities, it provides a space for local residents to learn art, freely express creativity, and enjoy the fun of creation. The association seeks to enhance public appreciation of art, improve quality of life, and alleviate stress from work and daily life through artistic channels.
