Part of the 2015 Artist-in-Residence Program, this exhibition presents the sculpture works of Chan Ka Yee. In a modern life inseparable from computers and technology, the virtual world is filled with countless prying eyes. What is the mindset behind them? Whether it's malicious slander driven by gossip or anonymous identities, or "tattling" and other such remarks, all of this reflects the convoluted desires of the human heart—the willingness to harm others for personal gain to satisfy one's own desires. The artist uses sculptural forms, employing computers and demons as creative media. Through this exhibition, the artist hopes to share the trajectory of her life with the audience.
Chan Ka Yee is a sculptor whose work explores the intersection of technology, human psychology, and societal observation, using traditional sculptural techniques to comment on contemporary digital life.
