The Child with Raised Ears! – Zhang Pei Ting Solo Painting Exhibition.
Presented by Macao Artists Society, Macao Youth Artists Association, Bairro da Imaculada Conceição Creative Industries Promotion Association, and Fantasia 10 Creative Garden, and supported by the Cultural Development Fund of the Macao SAR Government, "The Child with Raised Ears!" – Zhang Pei Ting's solo painting exhibition will showcase numerous oil paintings featuring animals and portraits from July 1 to August 30, 2025, at Fantasia 10 Creative Garden.
Animals, especially cats, can always evoke the purest innocence within us city dwellers. Sometimes directly, sometimes quietly, they occupy an irreplaceable presence in my work.
This exhibition, titled "The Child with Raised Ears!," combines my past and present works themed around cats. In these portraits, from color blocks and tones to lines, I explore their possibilities in painting. Cats possess the wildness of nature, yet when with familiar humans, they revert to being beloved pets in their owners' hearts—quietly listening to us, observing the people and events around, and silently offering us healing. Their elegant gaze, serene and non-contentious temperament, loyalty, and unique aura compel me to capture that moment and share it in my paintings—those innate wild children who are still gentle, innocent, and home-loving companions.
Zhang Pei Ting graduated from the Macao Polytechnic University with a major in Visual Arts Education, specializing in oil painting and focusing on animal and portrait paintings. She is currently a member of the Macao Artists Society.
She has loved painting since childhood, teaching herself and participating in campus art activities. In junior high, she joined a local manga association and participated in doujinshi production. Later, she studied gouache and sketching before enrolling in university to deepen her understanding of various art fields. She now participates in diverse cultural activities, including music, ceramics, and puppetry, integrating different artistic elements into her life to promote local artistic creation.
