Overview
Taipa Hill Country Park is located in eastern Taipa, encompassing a large forested area between Estrada do Istmo, Avenida do Governador Nobre de Carvalho, and Estrada Padre Tomás Sze Kiong. It is renowned for its sunrise and sunset views, egret nesting sites, and views of aircraft takeoffs and landings. The park features a viewing platform, pavilions, a children's playground, barbecue areas, a circular plaza, a shaded promenade, a man-made grass skiing field, and the Taipa Hill Walking Trail. It serves multiple functions including recreation, fitness, environmental education, and spiritual enrichment, making it an ideal spot for citizens to enjoy forest bathing and reconnect with nature.

Grass Skiing Field Hours
- May to October:
- Tuesday to Friday: 14:00–18:00
- Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: 9:00–18:00
- November to April:
- Tuesday to Friday: 14:00–17:00
- Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: 9:00–17:00
- Weekly Maintenance: Closed every Monday. If Monday is a public holiday, the facility will be open and will close on the following weekday instead.
Note: Use of the grass skiing facilities is completely free.
Transportation
There is no direct bus service. Visitors can:
- Take a bus to the airport, cross the footbridge via the Grandview Hotel, proceed to Observatory Slope, and walk up 200 meters.
- Drive directly into the park via Observatory Slope.
- Access via Estrada Padre Tomás Sze Kiong to the Taipa Hill Walking Trail.
- Alight at the bus stop near the Taipa Houses-Museum on Avenida do Governador Nobre de Carvalho and ascend the stairs to the walking trail.
Facilities & Activities
The park is a hub for various activities:
- Grass Skiing: A popular family-friendly activity where you slide down the slope on a sled.
- Other Fixed Points: Viewing platform, pavilions, children's playground, barbecue areas, circular plaza, and shaded promenade.
- Natural Exploration: The eastern area features diverse flora such as Formosan Koa, Schima, and Casuarina trees. Look for crystal-like minerals along the paths for good luck!
- Ecological Insight: The presence of coastal plants like Scaevola and Screw Pine hints at the area's past proximity to the sea before land reclamation for the international airport.
