Introduction

Coloane Public Library is a quaint and elegant Portuguese-style building constructed in 1911, located on Avenida de Cinco de Outubro in Coloane. It was originally the Coloane Public Municipal School, one of three primary schools on the islands at the time. After serving various purposes, it was converted into a library in 1983.

The library covers an area of 170 square meters and provides 22 reading seats. Its collection primarily consists of children's books and popular fiction. The library holds approximately 7,591 books, 45 types of newspapers from various regions, and 34 types of magazines.
