Exhibition Overview
The exhibition 'Sun Haichen's Horses – Sun Haichen Art Exhibition', organized by the Macao Foundation, will open at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Macao Science and Culture Centre Exhibition Hall. It will feature over 40 recent masterpieces by the renowned artist Mr. Sun Haichen from Inner Mongolia.

Artistic Background & Style
Sun Haichen lived and worked on the Inner Mongolian grasslands for over thirty years, conducting extensive sketches and research on Mongolian horses. Based on profound life experiences and solid realistic skills, he has created Mongolian horse paintings with unique personal thought and style. His horses are characterized by rigorous form, profound artistic conception, and masterful brushwork, possessing strong visual impact and power—a vivid expression born from the artist's spiritual connection with the subject. His distinctive insights and achievements in painting horses have established him as a unique figure in the Chinese art scene.
Notable Achievements & Awards
- 'Sunit Horse Herder' (Chinese Painting): Selected for the 8th National Fine Arts Exhibition.
- 'Horse Herder on the Desert' (1995): Selected for the 2nd National Hundred Flowers of Ethnic Groups Fine Arts Exhibition, winning the Silver Medal.
- 'Wind on the Desert' (1997): Selected for the 'World Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition' jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Chinese National Academy of Arts, Chinese Artists Association, and Chinese Calligraphers Association, exhibited at the National Art Museum of China.
- 'Mongolian Horse – Soul of the Grassland' (April 1999): Won the Silver Award at the 'Celebrating Macao's Return Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition' organized by the Chinese Artists Association.
- 'Chinese Dragon Horse' (Freehand Style, 2000): Specially invited to participate in the 'Chinese Soul – National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition'. Mr. Wang Guangying inscribed the title 'Chinese Dragon Horse' for the painting, which was displayed as the backdrop for the opening ceremony and received a Special Award from the organizing committee.
- 1996: Participated in the 14th Exhibition of 'The Third World and Us JAALA' held in Tokyo, Japan.
