Event Overview
To celebrate the anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region's establishment, enrich residents' leisure life, and enhance unique tourism resources, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) presents the 2022 Winter Flower Show themed "Strolling with Marguerite" from December 16, 2022, to January 1, 2023.
The main exhibition at the Taipa Houses – Museum (龍環葡韻) will feature a series of mysterious garden scenes with a romantic atmosphere, designed for a leisurely, step-by-step exploration. Major parks and green spaces across Macao will also be decorated with Marguerite daisies (木春菊) and festive flowers, spreading holiday cheer throughout the city.
Exhibition Highlights
- Theme Flower: The 2022 Winter Flower Show features the "Marguerite" daisy, which comes in a wide variety of vibrant colors.
- Design Concept: The exhibition combines the idea of strolling through a European-style garden as an environmental narrative. Coinciding with the upcoming Year of the Rabbit, visitors can discover a series of fun stories related to gardens and rabbits within the layered flower beds.
- Layout Journey: The layout progresses from the entrance to the center, starting with natural floral landscapes, transitioning through flower beds, and finally arriving at a symmetrical manor maze. This design extends the touring route and greatly enhances the garden's charm.
- Interactive Elements: Horticultural designers have hidden various "treasures" suitable for all ages in different corners of the exhibition, including rabbit-shaped topiaries, photo spots, and European-style tea houses.
Key Details
- Total Display: Approximately 38,000 pots of flowers.
- Concurrent Activities: During the exhibition period, IAM will organize various themed exhibitions and activities centered on Marguerite daisies, such as illustrated exhibitions, photography competitions, and floral workshops.
