St. John's Festival (Festas de São João) is a traditional Portuguese festival celebrated in Macao. It commemorates the successful defense of Macao against a Dutch invasion on June 24, 1622, which was also the feast day of St. John the Baptist. This coincidence led people to believe St. John was the city's patron saint, hence the name of the festival.
The event is known for its vibrant local character and lively atmosphere, offering a perfect opportunity to experience the city's traditional Portuguese heritage.
