About the Exhibition
The Chinese Ethnic Sculpture Park Exhibition Hall has reopened after renovation and reinstallation. The new exhibition, 'Southwest China Culture Exhibition,' is organized by the Municipal Affairs Bureau and undertaken by the Chinese Ethnic Unity Promotion Association. It introduces the lifestyles of nineteen ethnic groups from the southwestern region of mainland China through photographs, distinctive handicrafts, and costumes, promoting the diverse and multifaceted living forms and historical and contemporary appearances of the Chinese nation.
Exhibition Highlights
- Focus Region: The southwestern region, including Sichuan, Chongqing, Tibet, Guizhou, and Yunnan, is home to the largest concentration of ethnic minorities in mainland China, with twenty-five ethnic groups primarily distributed in this area.
- Featured Groups: This exhibition showcases nineteen of these ethnic groups: Tibetan, Monba, Lhoba, Yi, Bai, Hani, Dai, Lisu, Va, Lahu, Naxi, Jingpo, Blang, Achang, Pumi, Nu, De'ang, Dulong, and Jino.
- Display Content: The exhibition presents photographs depicting their daily lives, along with costumes, craft patterns, musical instruments, and folk artifacts. These items reflect the region's unique local characteristics, aesthetic sensibilities, traditional lifestyles, and ethnic wisdom.
Visitor Information
- Self-Guided & Tours: Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition independently. Alternatively, they can join the guided educational routes organized by the Municipal Affairs Bureau:
- 'Strolling Macao Streets: Knowing Macao – Cherishing the Macao Basic Law' route.
- Macao Basic Law Memorial Hall guided education route (covering three sites: the Macao Basic Law Memorial Hall, Golden Lotus Square, and the Chinese Ethnic Sculpture Park).
- Health & Safety: In line with the SAR government's epidemic prevention measures, the exhibition hall follows health authority guidelines. Enhanced cleaning, disinfection, and crowd control measures are in place. All visitors must wear masks, undergo temperature checks, and present a valid Macao Health Code for the day.

- Park Hours: The park area is open 24 hours.
- Exhibition Hall Hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (open on public holidays).
