This landmark exhibition presents the most avant-garde and experimental works from the forefront of Dutch design. Following its debut in Suzhou, this major touring exhibition makes its first stop in Macau, offering a unique opportunity for the local design community and the public to engage with cutting-edge international design concepts.
This is the first large-scale Dutch contemporary design exhibition ever held in Macau. It features 27 sets of works from renowned Dutch design studios and individual designers, curated around the theme of "Self/Unself."
The works on display originate from the designers' personal perceptions of art and the world. Through interaction with society and employing various media—including installations, images, and multimedia—the designers use design as a translator to deconstruct and reconstruct the world. The exhibition moves beyond traditional iconography, delving into designers' reflections on socio-cultural issues and daily life. It introduces new concepts and methodologies derived from design, revealing aesthetic truths in life's details and the essence of natural discourse, while highlighting the unique charm of symbolic meaning and expression.
