Searching for the Inner Home (II) – Li Yanhua Installation Exhibition
The core of Li Yanhua's "Searching for the Inner Home" series is to use time and space to make viewers aware, through visual art, that each of us is searching for the home within our hearts. As time passes, the physical space and memories of a home change with the comings and goings of people. Only by searching for our inner home can we create personal memories brewed in different spaces and times, and find resonance and release by sharing the process with others.
"Searching for the Inner Home" is not only a process of exploring personal imprints but also a source of energy to calm one's inner self.
This workshop starts from the traditional Chinese concepts of "volume" and "book," guiding learners to view contemporary book concepts and reconsider our perspective on reading from a historical angle. The workshop will instruct learners to complete their own hand-bound book.
Long-time art practitioner Li Yanhua will share her creative experiences from around the world with friends in Macau. She will primarily share her residency experiences in countries such as the United States, France, Japan, and Mexico, and explain her creative process.
Li Yanhua currently lives and works in Taiwan. She has participated in group exhibitions at the Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (Japan), Pier-2 Art Center (Kaohsiung, Taiwan), Yingge Ceramics Museum (Taiwan), Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan), Katonah Museum of Art (New York, USA), Masur Museum of Art (Louisiana, USA), Westchester Biennial 2008, 2010, 2012 (New York, USA), and the 2008 ARWI International Art Fair. Her works are in the collections of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the Kohler Arts Center (USA), the Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum (China), and other institutions domestically and internationally.
