Exhibition Overview
"Roots (Double Loop)" is a joint art exhibition featuring the works of two Macao artists, Mak Soi Wa and Wong Hio Man. The exhibition presents artworks centered on the themes of buildings and nature, exploring concepts of belonging, memory, and the paradoxical future of the city.
Artistic Mediums & Concept
- The artists utilize their respective specialties, including printmaking, ceramics, sketches, video, and mixed media.
- Through dense, repetitive, and overlapping artistic expressions, the fragmentary works build a sense of temporal continuity.
- The exhibition reflects on the artists' personal living experiences in Macao—a city full of symbols and potential—while also presenting a contradictory image of the future city, caught between continuity and disappearance.
