Reflecting Daily Haze: Zhang Yijun Solo Exhibition
"Reflecting Daily Haze" is a solo exhibition by artist Zhang Yijun. The title explores the concepts of reflection and visual perception.
About the Exhibition
- "Reflecting" (映) refers to the reflection of an object in water. Viewing a reflection is more blurred than viewing the actual object, making it harder to discern details. The exhibition reflects the "everyday," meaning the works are related to the blurring and simplification of daily life.
- "Haze Vision" (霧視) refers to the visual experience when people daydream, unconsciously losing focus and blurring the images before their eyes. The use of "Haze Vision" in the exhibition title aims to emphasize this usually unnoticed visual state.
Artist's Statement
"When choosing the medium for the works, I wanted to try something newer, so I painted with oil on aluminum panels. The content of the images references some film photos I've taken from high school until now. There are many of these photos, and I've categorized them. Among them, the images considered nearly damaged were separated into their own category, forming the theme of this exhibition – 'the everyday.'" – Zhang Yijun
