Feast of Pak Tai

The fisherfolk of Taipa have traditionally been devoted to the Taoist god Pak Tai, dedicating a temple to the deity over a century ago. His birthday is celebrated on the third day of the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar.

Event Highlights

Main Celebration (21 April, 12:00 noon): Noon blessing ceremony, firecrackers, distribution of roast pork, and a lion and dragon dance parade through Taipa Old Village.
Cantonese Opera Performances (20-23 April, 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm): Traditional 'Divine Opera' performances by the Toi Shan Cantonese Opera Troupe on a temporary stage in front of Pak Tai Temple. Admission is free.
Arts and Crafts Exhibition (20-23 April, 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm): A folk arts and crafts exhibition to enhance understanding of Taipa's history.
Celebratory Dinner (24 April, 7:00 pm): A festive dinner for the local elderly community.
