Presented as part of the 2018 Artist-in-Residence Program, "Original Color – Wong Siu Kwan Original Color Painting Exhibition" showcases the artist's unique animal sketches.
The exhibited works are original pieces from the artist's publication Original Color – Wong Siu Kwan Ballpoint Pen Sketch Collection (Animal Chapter). Primarily featuring animal sketches, the artist aims for visitors to appreciate the charm of sketching, the artist's dedication, and the love that should be given to animals. All works are completed with a black ballpoint pen, demonstrating the possibilities of sketching with alternative materials beyond pencils, breaking conventional boundaries of the medium, and enriching the types of fine art in Macao.
Wong Siu Kwan is an amateur painting enthusiast who has loved drawing since childhood. His works have been selected for the All-Macao Calligraphy and Painting Joint Exhibition and the Macao Art Biennial, and he has won the Macao championship in the Hong Kong-Macao Illustration Competition. He co-published the comic Wind Chaser and published his first personal comic Comics‧Misc in 2011. In 2017, he published his first sketch collection Original Color – Wong Siu Kwan Ballpoint Pen Sketch Collection.
