Have you heard of "Sang Choi Fui" (Lettuce Festival), "Jie Ku" (Borrowing Trousers), or "Nuan Tang Fan" (Warm Hall Meal)? The social life and customs of the Greater Bay Area (Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau) from over 100 years ago are being recreated at the Macao Public Library!
The Public Library Management Department of the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Sun Yat-sen Library of Guangdong Province jointly present the "Old News: Illustrated Newspapers of the Greater Bay Area in the Late Qing and Early Republic Era" exhibition. It showcases over 100 historical illustrated newspapers from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China period, highlighting the distinctive living habits and social customs of the region.
