This exhibition showcases the latest photographic, video, and installation works by local Macau artist Alice Kok (Guo Tianxi). An avid traveler, art educator, curator, and adherent of Buddhism, Kok explores themes of spirituality, material emptiness, and the human psyche, drawing inspiration from her journeys to Northern India and the Qinghai-Tibetan region.
Alice Kok's installation is centered around a mandala structure, representing an 'altar' for humanity's vision of the infinite universe. The work incorporates images of the four elements—earth, water, fire, and air—to deconstruct material existence and explore its relationship with spirituality and origins. Through her multicultural lens and Buddhist philosophies, Kok invites viewers to contemplate the emptiness of form, the balance of life and time, and the pursuit of mental freedom.
Curated by Tong Chong, the exhibition is a profound meditation on existence, desire, and the search for a personal 'Pure Land.'
