The Youth Art Exhibition Gallery under the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau presents "Multi-Insect Symphony – Cheng Wai Yan Painting Exhibition" from May 19 to 31, 2015.
This exhibition features paintings by young artist Cheng Wai Yan, who majored in entomology during her university studies. Centered on the theme of insects, the works employ surreal imagination to extend and permeate various insect forms into the intricate details of daily life. Through diverse artistic techniques, Cheng blends her personal feelings and fantasies about insects, creating a peculiar space on the flat canvas. The artist hopes her works will offer viewers a fresh perspective on appreciating insects and evoke a sense of resonance.
Notably, for each exhibition, participants are assisted, guided, and encouraged by the gallery staff in tasks related to exhibition preparation, promotional material design, and setup. This fully embodies the gallery's mission: to provide youth with space for exhibitions and performances to showcase their talents, share creativity, and cultivate creative thinking and self-confidence.
