A misanthropic and stubborn old woman living alone in Coloane, 'Pirate Granny' embarks on a scavenger hunt for treasures to please her visiting grandson from Macau. Her journey is interrupted by a newly-arrived Southeast Asian father-daughter duo competing for the same treasures, and she encounters a dirty but loyal and brave stray dog who joins her adventure. The people and things along the way awaken long-forgotten childhood memories, transporting her back to the glorious era of her ancestors' legends and gradually unraveling the mystery of Pirate Granny's origins...
How will neighbors who don't speak the same language coexist day after day? How will a family heirloom bridge the gap between grandmother and grandson?
Rolling Puppet Alternative Theatre collaborates with the Mexican Cuerda Floja Theatre to create various innovative and unique human puppets, animal puppets, and masks. Combined with rich physical expression, this production transforms a down-to-earth life story into the delightful and humorous 'Adults and Kids Watch Together' puppet series, taking you on a treasure hunt through memory!
