Macao Science Center Popular Science Picture Book Library

A new parent-child reading space, the Macao Science Center's "Popular Science Picture Book Library," is now open, aiming to foster a positive atmosphere for popular science in society.

About the Initiative

To align with the SAR government's policy of promoting universal reading and building a "City of Reading," and to encourage children and youth to develop lifelong reading habits, the Macao Science Center has launched the new "Popular Science Picture Book Reading Program" this year.

Organizers: The program is jointly organized by the Macao Science Center and the Faculty of Education, University of Macau, with sponsorship from Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM).
Components: The program includes the establishment of the "Popular Science Picture Book Library" in the lobby of the Science Center's Exhibition Center and the monthly "2023 STEAM x Picture Books x Storytelling" event.
Goal: The initiative aims to enhance public scientific literacy and provide a dedicated parent-child reading space.

Popular Science Picture Book Library

Location: Lobby of the Macao Science Center Exhibition Center.
Admission: Free.
Opening Hours: Same as the Macao Science Center's general opening hours.
Experience: Families are welcome to enjoy the pleasure of shared reading in the beautiful environment of the Science Center.

2023 STEAM x Picture Books x Storytelling Event

Schedule: Held monthly on the second Saturday at 3:00 PM.
Venue: Navigation Science Hall (Exhibition Hall 5) in the Science Center Exhibition Center.
Suitable For: Children from senior kindergarten to Primary 3 and their parents.
Registration: Each session has 15 on-site registration slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested participants can register at the Science Center lobby 20 minutes before the event starts.
