During the 16th to 19th centuries, China established trade and cultural links with Asian countries and Europe via the Maritime Silk Road. Macao held a special historical position during this period as a crucial transit point between China and Europe, particularly between China and Portugal. This exhibition features approximately 177 items/sets from the Palace Museum, Portuguese cultural institutions (including the National Museum of Ancient Art, the Museum of the Orient, and the Ajuda Library), and departments under the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau. It highlights the history of cultural exchange between China and Portugal during this era.
