"Contemporary Oil Painting: A Conversation with Emerging Artists"
Macau, a city rich in cultural heritage, is a place where Eastern and Western art forms flourish. While we are captivated by this diversity, various art forms are quietly evolving and undergoing revolutions in the new era. Fantasia 10 Creative Garden invites Macau's young artists to engage with art enthusiasts from all walks of life through a sharing session. This event aims to introduce the richness of local art, share the diverse appeal of modern painting in terms of thematic styles and material application, and collectively explore the future development path of Macau's art scene.
Macau artist and columnist for the Visual Arts section of Macau Daily News. Holds a PhD and Master's in Plastic Arts from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and a Master's in Oil Painting from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. She is the Vice President of the Macau Painting Academy, Honorary Advisor of the International Association of Women Artists – Macau Branch, a member of the Paris Gasquel Artists Association, and a member of the Macau Artists Association. Currently works as a freelance artist and designer in Paris, France. Her oil paintings have been exhibited and awarded in Macau and national exhibitions, and her paintings, videos, and installation works have been publicly displayed in Paris and cities worldwide.
Topic: The Visible and the Legible in Oil Painting – From the 'Proliferation' Series to the French Salon A brief summary of her artistic journey from the 'Life Series' in the 1990s, to the 'Proliferation' series in France, and now the 'Text' series. She will discuss the transition from Chinese traditional culture to influences from Western creative concepts, and from two-dimensional to three-dimensional and dynamic forms. Combining her study and exhibition experiences in France, she will explore the evolution of her personal artistic development amidst continuous learning and the clash of Chinese and Western cultures, sharing the highs and lows along the way.
A full-time artist and curator based in Macau. He is a council member of the China Artists Association, Vice Chairman of the Macau Artists Association, a director of the Macau Fine Arts Association, and President of the Macau Young Artists Association. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. His early works focused on the theme of the original city, exploring urban ecology, living conditions, and the connection between time and the city. His later creations shifted to forests, seeking to transform the spirituality of nature into a source of artistic creation.
His works have been exhibited in Macau, China, Portugal, the USA, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other places. He has held 21 solo exhibitions, including titles such as Over the Mountain Clouds, The Clear Water and the Bright Stones, Glimmer, Shifting Scenery, Single Moment, What Remains is Memory, Memory Matrix, Point in Time, Time Flies, Passing Grid, Between Half-Space, Half-Space, Painting Flowers, and Secret Garden. He was selected for the nomination exhibition of "Ecology+, China Young Artists Annual Selection" and is the winner of the first Orient Foundation Plastic Arts Award. He currently lives and creates art in Macau.
