Every year, the Macau City Fringe draws inspiration from the special ambience of the city by attempting to convert it all into a giant stage. Wherever a performance is held in the territory, the hallmark is surprise. Catch idiosyncratic performances with a heavy dose of whimsy by foreign and local artists in dozens of different venues!
The festival dares to challenge tradition, presenting multiple experimental performances that are both quirky and brilliant. Venues break away from conventional theatres, taking over spaces like industrial buildings, swimming pools, gardens, air-raid shelters, and galleries. Performances can happen anywhere, anytime, truly embodying the spirit of 'the whole city as a stage, everyone as an audience, everyone as an artist.'
