He was a master of 'Three Excellences in One Person', achieving outstanding accomplishments and making significant contributions across multiple fields including literature, art, and academia. He was a rare and monumental figure of the century.
Professor Rao was a strong supporter of Macao's cultural endeavors. In 2011, he generously donated 30 pieces/sets of calligraphy and painting works to the Macao Museum of Art for its permanent collection. To showcase his artistic achievements to the public, this exhibition selects 13 pieces/sets of works from the museum's collection, including calligraphy in four scripts, small landscape scenes, paintings of flowers, trees, bamboo, and rocks, as well as Taoist and Buddhist figure paintings. These works are specially displayed at the Rao Zongyi Art and Culture Gallery, allowing the public to appreciate his profound scholarship and diverse creativity.
