Competition Overview
Calling all Macau songwriters! The MACA Pop Song Creation Competition 2015 is now open for submissions. This competition seeks original pop songs from local residents, with selected finalists performing live and contributing to the charity album MACA ALBUM VOL. 4.
Submission Details
- Submission Period: April 1–30, 2015
- Submission Deadline: April 30, 2015, 6:00 PM
- Submission Address: MACA Office, Unit B, 7th Floor, Edificio Comercial Iat Tat, No. 126 Rua de Pequim, ZAPE, Macau
- Mail Submissions: The postmark date will be considered the submission date.
Submission Requirements
For each entry, please submit the following on a CD:
- A combined score and lyrics (score can be in numbered notation or staff notation, with lyrics written below the corresponding notes).
- Lyrics only.
- An MP3 audio file of the song.
Important: Do not write the author's name on the score or lyrics.
Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibility: Participants must be Macau residents holding a valid Macau Resident Identity Card.
- Originality: All songs and lyrics must be original works and must not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.
- Submission Limit: Each participant may submit a maximum of one composition and one set of lyrics.
- Copyright Agreement: Participants must agree to the competition's copyright terms, which will be transferred to MACA upon submission and returned under specific conditions.
- Arrangement & Performance: MACA reserves the absolute right to make appropriate musical arrangements for any entry and to decide the performing singer for the final.
- Judging: The competition results are at the sole discretion of the MACA judges.
- Language: These rules are provided in Chinese and English. In case of discrepancy, the Chinese version shall prevail.
- Final Authority: MACA reserves the right of final interpretation and amendment of these rules.
Copyright Terms (Summary)
- Upon submission, copyright for the entry is transferred to MACA.
- Only MACA or its authorized third parties may use the work for competition promotion.
- Copyright for works not selected for the final will be returned to the participant after the selection process.
- Copyright for finalist works will be returned after the final competition and the release of the charity album.
