Luo Xiaodi has a profound interest and extensive experience in font design. He has designed multiple Western fonts and created a Chinese font with over 5000 characters, known as "Lao Wai Song Ti". His work is forward-thinking, with a special focus on East-West cultural exchange and typography.
He frequently facilitates visits by Western scholars and font designers to Asia, particularly China and Hong Kong, to study Eastern font design. Actively involved in organizing seminars, he has spearheaded several events addressing global trends in multilingual and font design, including the 2011 "Multi-lingual Typography" workshop at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design and the 2012 ATypI Annual Conference. These gatherings attracted experts from around the world, including Germany, the USA, Japan, the Netherlands, Italy, Finland, China, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand, to research the global development of fonts.
