Presented as part of the 2025 Artist-in-Residence Program, this exhibition explores the recurring scenes and fleeting moments of daily life, where familiar settings are populated by strangers. These visual fragments intertwine in our perception, forming lasting memories. Each image is not merely a visual representation but an emotional connection that resonates across time.
The artist, Wu Yiying, seeks to build empathy through her unique perspective, sharing the memories and emotions evoked by these captured moments. The images we perceive are filtered through our emotions, shaping our impressions. Influenced by diverse elements—from culture and design to nature and commerce—our sensory engagement with the world facilitates a profound, non-verbal dialogue.
This silent exchange, mediated by our socially defined identities, fosters new ideas through acceptance and collision, creating a continuous cycle of absorption and transmission within society.
Wu Yiying was born in Macao in 1993. She graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Creative Industries at Huafan University in Taiwan in 2015. From a young age, she has been curious about life and emotionally perceptive. Her work explores humanity, emotional connections, and nature through various mediums, with a focus on oil and acrylic painting.
Her previous exhibitions include the 2013 Huafan University Dalun Mountain Art Exhibition, the 2015 Huashan Graduation Exhibition in Taiwan, and the 2022–2024 Macao Art Association Member Exhibitions.
She is currently a member of the Macao Art Association, the Macao Visual Arts Education Association, the Macao Reading Popularization Association, and the Macao Incense Culture Youth Promotion Association, and is the founder of Macao Origin Art Space.
Approximately 14 oil paintings will be on display. Art enthusiasts and the public are warmly invited to attend.
